On December 12, Andre Berto organized a roundtable discussion in Las Vegas with some of boxing's biggest stars to talk about his BlackOut Boxing movement in the wake of the recent race-related events in New York and Ferguson, Missouri, and what it means to them as public figures and professional athletes.
Berto, along with fellow fighters Shawn Porter, Errol Spence Jr., Peter Quillin and brothers Zab and Joe Judah, spoke freely about their own personal experiences with law enforcement in their communities, and offered positive encouragement to all their fans in two 10-minute videos on YouTube.
Berto hopes to spread the message of positive change and being “proactive”. He commented: "Your harvest is coming, so remember to stick with your purpose and keep moving.
"Don't wait for someone else to do it: Stand up and do something and others will follow.”
