An iconic trio of sports broadcasters will team up for the first time ever when Bob Costas joins Al Michaels and Marv Albert for the next Premier Boxing Champions card on NBC on April 11.
The unprecedented collection of talented throats will help deliver an exciting night of boxing featuring unbeaten Danny Garcia (29-0, 17 KOs) vs. Lamont Peterson (33-2-1, 17 KOs), and 160-pound champion Andy Lee (34-2, 24 KOs) vs. Peter Quillin (31-0, 22 KOs). NBC’s live coverage from Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York, will begin at 8:30 p.m. ET.
Michaels and Albert will resume their respective roles as show host and blow-by-blow announcer from the inaugural PBC on NBC broadcast on March 7. Costas will serve as a special contributor, presenting a feature on the storied history of boxing in New York.
With Michaels and Albert hailing from Brooklyn, and Costas from Commack, Long Island, the broadcast will not only be a homecoming of sorts, but the first time they have worked the same sporting event together.
The notion seems improbable considering the trio has worked a combined 25 Super Bowls, 25 NBA Finals, 23 Olympics, 19 World Series and numerous boxing events on television and radio.
Michaels, Albert and Costas will be joined on the PBC on NBC telecast by analyst and six-time world champion Sugar Ray Leonard, corner analyst B.J. Flores and reporter Kenny Rice.
