Boston-area favorite Danny O’Connor will look to get even for one of the two losses in his career with a long-awaited rematch of his 2011 bout against Gabriel Bracero on NBCSN at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT October 10 in front of a favorable crowd at Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, Massachusetts.
Danny O’Connor (26-2, 10 KOs) stopped Chris Gilbert in the fifth round May 23 in Boston on the James DeGale vs Andre Dirrell undercard.
In their April 2011 match, Gabriel Bracero (23-2, 4 KOs) won an eight-round unanimous decision in which the Brooklyn, New York, native earned a shutout on two of the three scorecards. Bracero will be looking to bounce back from the second loss of his career when he fell to Felix Diaz in April at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on the Danny Garcia vs Lamont Peterson undercard.
“I won the Golden Gloves [at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium] and I can’t wait to fight there again,” O’Connor said. “I’m also excited to avenge my first loss against Gabriel Bracero.”
The 10-round fight will be at 147 pounds.
In the co-main event, power-punching 126-pounder Jonathan Guzman (19-0, 19 KOs) looks to make Danny Aquino (17-2, 10 KOs) knockout victim No. 20, while Ryan Kielczewski (23-1, 7 KOs) squares up with Rafael Vazquez (16-1, 13 KOs) in another 126-pound bout.
