Relax, he’s a professional.
Seth Rollins had Robert Guerrero by the throat, ready to put him on the mat. That’s not metaphorically, either. The WWE’s Rollins—at Guerrero’s request—taught him the ins and outs of a good old-fashioned choke-slam at the CrossFit Ranch in Salinas, California, not far from Guerrero’s native city of Gilroy.
“[CrossFit Games director] Dave Castro called me up to see if I wanted to go out there and do a little workout with Seth and give him a tour of the CrossFit Ranch,” Guerrero said. “I went out there, just hung out with him, did a couple of wrestling moves. I said I wanted to know how it feels going up for the choke-slam. He showed me the proper technique and just guided me down.”
Rollins, of course, was just making the rounds on the Internet this month for getting kicked in the, uh, turnbuckles by Daily Show host Jon Stewart.
Guerrero was on the receiving end of plenty of inquiries from people looking for inside info on upcoming WWE storylines. He was so close to the source, and the answer is like a folding chair to the heart for wrestling fans.
“Right now [Rollins] has the Money in the Bank contract, so everybody’s hitting me up: ’Who’s he going to turn it in with?’ I don’t know,” Guerrero said. “I didn’t ask him about it.”
