The undefeated 154-pounder had quite the successful year in and out of the ring—scoring four wins inside the squared circle and tying the knot in December.
2019 was a big year in and out of the ring for top super welterweight prospect Joey Spencer.
The 19-year-old from Linden, Michigan won all four of his fights in the ring to improve to 9-0 with seven knockouts, and in December, Spencer was married to wife, Tabitha.
Spencer’s four victories—which included a highlight KO of Travis Gambardella on the Errol Spence Jr. vs Shawn Porter FOX PPV card in September—helped him earn the PBC’s Prospect Of The Year Award for 2019 as voted by fans.
“I just want to keep becoming a better pro each time I get in the ring. This experience is a big part of it,” said Spencer, who tallied 39.6-percent of the vote to beat out Chris Colbert, Rolando Romero, Efe Ajagba and Lindolfo Delgado.
"I’m working crazy hard each day to improve my stamina and pace and get to my maximum level," continued Spencer, who returns to the ring January 18th on a PBC on FOX card in Philadelphia. "I'm looking forward to showing people what I can do, one fight at a time."
