On the very first Premier Boxing Champions card, we saw Adrien Broner take care of business against John Molina Jr. at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. A week later, Shawn Porter dealt Erik Bone a savage fifth-round stoppage at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario, California.
Those two wins set Broner (30-1, 22 KOs) and Porter (25-1-1, 16 KOs) on a collision course for a PBC on NBC showdown set for Las Vegas, June 20, as Broner returns to the scene of his last win, while Porter looks to dazzle the fans in the city he now calls home.
Both Adrien Broner and Shawn Porter hail from Ohio—the former a Cincinnati native and the latter from Akron—as they prepare for a Buckeye battle in the boxing capital of the world.
Errol Spence Jr. (16-0, 13 KOs), who flattened Samuel Vargas on April 11 in the fourth round at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, is in for the biggest fight of his young career against Roberto Garcia (37-3, 23 KOs), fresh off an eight-round decision over James Stevenson on April 24 at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion.
