Antonio Tarver, the former 175-pound world champion who once stunned Roy Jones Jr. with a second-round knockout, has joined the Spike TV broadcast crew for Premier Boxing Champions as a color analyst.
Tarver, along with former mixed martial arts fighter Jimmy Smith, will call the action alongside host Dana Jacobson and blow-by-blow announcer Scott Hansen for the debut March 13 card that pits Andre Berto against Josesito Lopez, and Shawn Porter against Robert Garcia.
Tarver, 46, fought as recently as December when he earned a seventh-round TKO over Jonathon Banks. In 2006 he starred as Mason “The Line” Dixon opposite Sylvester Stallone in Rocky Balboa.
Smith currently serves as the Bellator MMA analyst on Spike.
